Republican Representative Jim Campbell represents the people of district 138 in the Maine House of Representatives. He is a retired printing plant manager and a devout public servant.
Jim's father was an active union member and he hasn’t forgotten that. In his words he “Started at the bottom and worked my way to the top… but I haven’t forgotten where I came from.” This may explain why Rep. Campbell doesn't hesitate to cross party lines to support the Employee Free Choice Act.
“Historically, no institution has been as effective at improving the quality of life for working families as membership in a union,” explained Jim Campbell in an Op-Ed that was published in the Portland Press Herald. In addition to the Op-Ed Jim has spoken at several events. The clip presented here was recorded at the Southern Maine Labor Council’s Worker’s Rights Forum, the third such event that Jim has spoken at.
The representative’s support has been invaluable to the working people of Maine and we thank him for having the courage to support the Employee Free Choice Act when many in his party have not.
