John leads one of the most active locals in Maine in this fight. His membership has written, called and petitioned our Senators to pass the Employee Free Choice Act. John has even arranged meetings with the offices of Senators Snowe and Collins to lobby their support for the Employee Free Choice Act.
He’s a third generation UA member and he doesn’t forget it. He credits the union for improving him and his family’s living standard.
It’s his hope that the Employee Free Choice Act will eliminate the intimidation that workers suffer under when trying to form a union. UA Local 716 is doing great work and John’s helping to make that happen.
