Brothers and Sisters,
An intense media and political battle has been raging ever since the Employee Free Choice Act was introduced in Congress last month. Senator Mark Begich and Congressman Don Young have taken a stand for working Alaskans and support this legislation. Now, we need to encourage Senator Lisa Murkowski to do likewise and support the Employee Free Choice Act. Anyone can contribute by taking three short actions:
1) Call Senator Murkowski toll free at 1-866-207-2060 and urge her to support the Employee Free Choice Act. Remember to make your messages positive.
2) Click on this link to send Sen. Murkowski an email: http://murkowski.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ContactMe.EMailLisa
3) Send a letter to the editor of your local newspaper and explain why you support the Employee Free Choice Act.

Points to emphasize in your emails, phone calls, and telephone calls:
--Workers who have the right to bargain earn better incomes and can purchase more goods and services than those who don't, which will help restore the economy.
--In 2008, American workers produced 75% more than the workforce did in 1980. Unfortunately, workers' pay has not kept pace with their productivity. Average CEO compensation, on the other hand, has skyrocketed past workers' average income even though many CEOs gambled with the economy.
--Unionized workers are generally more productive and are as not prone to turnonver as non-union workers are.
